Cannot select other SU value for minimum/maximum other than the defult in Stream Anaylitcs jobs autoscale

We have an Azure Stream Analytics job where we should set up autoscale as the input events have a peak within a day regularly and rest of day would need less streaming units with lower workload. When set up a rule in the custom scale, the only selectable SU value for both minimum and maximum is the same what is set at the manual scale – 7 in this case. Only that SU value is visible in the dropdown of min/max SU value. How could set the minimum to lower value (e.g. 1) and set the maximum to a larger (e.g. 27)?

There seems to be something wrong with the portal.

I see similar behavior:

I can only select 3 units for manual scale. But when I save, I says I should have selected 30:

Please submit feedback on the portal page.

In the past, I have seen the portal can have glitches. Have you tried to change it using the CLI already?

Thank you to get back on this. I just tried the following command with CLI:

az stream-analytics job scale --job-name "XXXX" --resource-group "XXXX" --streaming-units 20

However, I got somehow similar error message:

Cannot scale streaming job to '20 (equivalent to 2 in UI)' streaming units. The valid streaming units to scale to are available in the 'validStreamingUnits' property and is currently '70 (equivalent to 7 in UI)'. Learn about SU conversions between API and UI: https://aka.ms/AsaSuConversions

For some reason, it states the only available SU to scale is 7 - the same value what was set in the manual scale.

This behavior is unfamiliar to me.

I reached out to some people from the Azure Stream Analytics product group.

Meanwhile, you can create a support ticket if you want direct support.
