Hello everyone,

I need to deploy Azure Migrate appliance (agentless) to vmware on prem infrastructure to migrate VM to Azure cloud, my question is if with last version of Azure Migrate it can change IP addresses and hostname (during job migration) on destination VMs?

thanks

best regards

Andrew

    Hi @Andrea Galli ,

during the migration process the IP of a VM can be modified/changed. This is important because the VM in Azure might have an IP from a different IP address range than on your local network.

As far as I know Azure Migrate can't change the hostname of a VM inside the operating system. But it's possible to change the Azure resource names of the VM and related resources (disk(s), NIC(s)) during the migration process.
