    Hello Anshal,

Greetings! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform.

Azure Purview pricing is based on specific activities related to its components.

Data Map Population: This includes activities like metadata extraction, lineage extraction, or classification based on metadata and content inspection. Essentially, it’s about populating the Microsoft Purview Data Map with information about your data assets.

Data Map Enrichment: Here, you optimize storage of data lake assets using resource sets or aggregate classifications to generate insights. It’s about enhancing the data map.

Data Map Consumption: This covers serving up search results, rendering lineage graphs, and using the Apache Atlas API to build apps on the data map.

@Anshal Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum, Thank you for posting your query here!

The best tool to calculate the pricing is through Azure Pricing Calculator, you get detailed pricing information of the product which you need based on your region. ( Azure product pricing is available on the Azure pricing page, in the Azure portal when you create a new resource, and through individual product pages. To estimate your costs, see the pricing calculator.)

Azure Purview pricing pages, here you can find detailed information of the Purview: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-in/pricing/details/purview/

The cost of Azure Purview depends on several factors, including the amount of data scanned, the number of data map requests, and the use of resource sets. It's designed to provide a comprehensive view of your data landscape, allowing you to understand data sources, lineage, and the location of sensitive data across your organization.

OneLake, on the other hand, is a feature of Microsoft Fabric, which is a single, unified, logical data lake for your entire organization. It's built on top of Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) Gen2 and supports any type of file, structured or unstructured. OneLake is designed to be the single place for all your analytics data, providing one copy of data for use with multiple analytical engines.

When it comes to cost calculation for Azure Purview and its relationship with services like OneLake, the costs are generally calculated based on the services used within Azure Purview, such as data map population, enrichment, and consumption. However, if you're using OneLake as part of Microsoft Fabric, the costs may be integrated into the overall Fabric usage, depending on your organization's setup and licensing.

For a detailed understanding of how Azure Purview costs are calculated and how it integrates with OneLake, you may refer to the following resources from your company and the web:
