VSS error impossible to backup Windows server 2016

Hi all,

I have a problem with a production server with windows 2016 standard. VSS are not working and backup is not working anymore. I use Macrium Reflect for backup from 3 years without problem but now it fails to backup disk D, and backup works correctly for disk C.

Macrium return this error:

"Failed: VSS Timeout - Retrying without VSS Writers
Failed to rename VSS log file, reason: Encountered a sharing violation while accessing C:\Users\ADMINI~1\AppData\Local\Temp\2\vss.log.
Backup aborted! - Failed To Create Volume Snapshot. Failed - 0x80042316 - IDispatch error #8470"

In Event viewer application i receive this error: "A VSS error was encountered creating the snapshot - Error: 0x80042316"

and error:

"The backup failed to complete successfully - Reason: Backup aborted! - Failed To Create Volume Snapshot. Failed - 0x80042316 - IDispatch error #8470"

I tried with another backup tool (Iperius Backup), but it fails the backup too.

    Hi,

    Please check the following things:

    1. On the D drive, please try to create VSS directly, check if it could work, if not, please provide the error message:

    2. Please open CMD as administrator, then enter the command: "vssadmin list writers", and "vssadmin list providers, check if there's any error in the command, if yes, please provide the screenshot.
