Cannot assign application to user flow in External (B2C) Tenant

Hello,

I've set up a registered application (which is working) on my B2C Tenant. I wanted to assign that application to one of the user flows I created.

I was following this guide: https://video2.skills-academy.com/en-us/entra/external-id/customers/concept-planning-your-solution

It makes me register the application in the B2C Tenant (fine, sounds good to me) but makes me assign the application to the user flow in the Workforce Tenant. I follow those steps but when I try to add the application I cannot find the registered application, because I registered it in the External tenant. Moreover, if I try to create a user flow in the External Tenant I can't see the "Use" section with the "Applications" option:

Can you help me fix this issue? Thanks!

    Hi @Filippo Iacobellis ,

    Thanks for reaching out.

It seems you are confused in two features here.

One is Azure AD B2C which is part of Azure AD and one can create B2C tenant using portal.azure.com as mentioned below:User's image

Another is new feature External ID for customers (CIAM) which is different from Azure AD B2C and can be create using entra.microsoft.com portal as mentioned below: User's image

The screenshot of user flow you shared is of B2C tenant, however the link you are accessing is of External ID for customers which has different UI of user flow than B2C.

External ID for customers is new feature for consumers applications. I would recommend you create new external tenant from entra.microsoft.com to get all CIAM functionalities.

Refer to understand difference in Azure AD B2C and External ID for customers: https://video2.skills-academy.com/en-us/entra/external-id/customers/faq-customers

    Hope this will help.

    Thanks,

    Shweta
