We have a number of web apps running and associated alerts in App Insights. These are monitored in an external system that we use to triage and support issues. We regularly get failures being reported due to GET /robots933456.txt requests. As described here there are not real issues, but just an Azure healthcheck being done. It would be good if we could screen out these alerts to avoid them cluttering up our support systems. How can we do this? NB, the alert that these trigger is a simple, 'requests/failed > 0' one.

it is possible to filter telemetry in some versions of the SDK

basically you can deploy a Data Collection Rule (DCR) which allows you to pre-process Log Analytics data (this includes App Insights telemetry) - one use case is to filter out data you dont want to see
This approach is agnostic of app insights implementation and the language runtime of code covered by app insights.

2024-07-04T17:07:23.28+00:00 Thanks for the quick response - much appreciated. We're not using an agent atm. It's just a react app deployed as a Web App. I guess we could give a DCR a try, although it doesn't look that trivial to set up.
