Hi, I think, you need to create persistent volume to automount the volumes every time, the server restarts. Please try adding x-systemd.automount to /etc/fstab option and see it helps !

I encountered a problem when trying to mount:

[14539.535319] CIFS: VFS: cifs_sync_mid_result: invalid mid state mid=0 state=2 [14539.552629] CIFS: VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -5

Before the updates, it worked fine, and I also set it up in /etc/fstab.

There were some updates related to SMB and CIFS according to the Ubuntu changelog: https://changelogs.ubuntu.com/changelogs/pool/main/l/linux-azure-5.15/linux-azure-5.15_5.15.0-1067.76~20.04.1/changelog

I have tested different SMB versions as well as CIFS tags, including 2.1, 3.1.1, and 3.0. Azure Storage should work with all SMB versions. I can also mount it on another VM where the Ubuntu update has not been applied.

mount -t cifs //<Storage-Account>Filesshares/ /mnt/azure -o vers=3.0,username=<Username>,password=<password>,dir_mode=0777,file_mode=0777 and with other flags
