Need help cancelling free trial

Good afternoon,

I’d like to express my dissatisfaction with Microsoft. I decided to try Teams for a month, but I don’t want to extend or auto-renew my subscription. Unfortunately, when I try to contact Microsoft online, I encounter an error. The steps to cancel don’t work because the option isn’t available in my subscription. It feels deliberately difficult to find and cancel—it’s almost as if Microsoft wants people to accidentally auto-renew and get locked into contracts.

My question is can you cancel my auto renew for me? If not can you give me steps ASAP as I due to auto renew in a week and we are going to end up in a dispute.

    Hi Jacob,

    I would recommend looking at:

Turn recurring billing on or off for a Microsoft subscription

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/turn-recurring-billing-on-or-off-for-a-microsoft-subscription-66f40aee-2317-f74b-40f9-2be7e92f0167

When recurring billing is turned on, you’ll be billed for your subscription on your renewal date. If you turn off recurring billing, your subscription will expire on the date shown, and you won't be billed in the future.

    1. Go to the Services & subscriptions page in your Microsoft account dashboard. Sign in
    2. Locate your subscription and then select Manage
    3. Do one of the following:
      • If you see a Turn on recurring billing link, choose it to turn recurring billing on.
      • If you see a Cancel link, choose it to cancel the subscription. You might be given the choice to get a refund for unused time. If you choose to get a refund, the subscription will go into reduced functionality mode immediately. Otherwise, you'll have access to your subscription until it expires.
      • If you see a Turn on recurring billing link, it means recurring billing is already turned off.
      • If you don't see options for Turn off recurring billing or Cancel, but instead see Paid with and None, it means your subscription will end on the date specified in Expires on.
    4. Follow the prompts to turn off recurring billing. You'll have access to your subscription until it expires.
