I have a user who has recoverable item folder size is 100 gb and currently not able to receive calendar items. Please let me know how i can make the folder empty.

I tried https://video2.skills-academy.com/en-us/purview/ediscovery-delete-items-in-the-recoverable-items-folder-of-mailboxes-on-hold?view=o365-worldwide

But it does not make any sense to me as the command deletes only 10 items one time, as the mailbox current items are 1 million.

I have currently changed the retain deleted items to 0 , it reduces some size around 10 gb. Will it work or do we have any other solution to make this folder empty.

    Hi @Sanjay Bhakuni - admin ,

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

Based on your description, I understand you got a need to purge the Recoverable Items folder.

However, I suggest you could try the MFCMAPI tool to fix the issue. It is able to perform large message purges at once to meet your request.

Also, you can refer to Clean up or delete items from the Recoverable Items folder in Exchange Online | Microsoft Learn to see if it helps.

If my answer is helpful to you, please mark it as the answer so that other users can refer to it. Thank you for your support and understanding.
