How to fix: Remote Desktop can't connect to the remote computer, on an existing azure dev box

I had an Azure Dev Box that I have been working in for over a year now. Suddenly, I started getting the error message below when trying to open it via Remote Desktop. I have tried to run a troubleshoot on the dev box through the portal and it comes up with no errors.

Remote Desktop can't connect to the remote computer for one of these reasons:

  1. Remote access to the server is not enabled
  2. The remote computer is turned off
  3. The remote computer is not available on the network Make sure that the remote computer is turned on and connected to the network and that remote access is enabled.
