Hi,

I would like to know if its possible to specify the backup policy for O365? eg. frequency and retention period.

Also I would like to understand my storage costs for these backups. Are the backups full backups or incremental backups?

Kind Regards,

Daniel

    Hi @Daniel Mason

I think Microsoft365DSC https://microsoft365dsc.com/ might be helpful for you.

It allows to take a Snapshot of Existing Tenant configuration.

Please have a look at Security & Compliance section.

    Best regards,

    Aleksandr

    Hi Daniel,

Yes, you can specify backup policies for Office 365, including frequency and retention periods, using third-party backup solutions. Office 365's built-in backup features are limited, so these solutions offer more flexibility.

    Frequency and Retention

Frequency: Options typically include hourly, daily, or weekly backups.

Retention: Data can be retained from 30 days to indefinitely.

    Storage Costs

    Storage costs depend on:

Data Volume, Backup Frequency, Retention Period

Third-party providers usually offer cost calculators or can provide a custom quote.

Backup Types Full Backups: Capture all data at once & Incremental Backups: Capture only changes since the last backup, saving space and time.

    Best Regards,
