PXE clients choose MP in remote site

Hello experts,

We have some branch offices and set up MPs and DPs for each one. But when we try to PXE boot, the clients often choose a MP in remote site rather than the MP in its own branch office. This will cause PXE deployment delays. Can we specify the client to choose the MP within the same branch office during PXE boot?

    Hi,

Per my experience, PXE clients always use the MP that the PXE server uses. This is done to ensure that the PXE server and PXE client are consistent in what they try to do. Please change below registry key on the DP site system to specify the MP within the same branch office to have a try:

    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\DP

    REG_SZ - ManagementPoints

For more information, please refer to:

Choose the right Management Point from WinPE

Hope it helps. Thanks for your time.

    Best regards,

    Simon
