Hello,

We are currently planning a transition from an on-premise Team Foundation Server (TFS) setup to Azure DevOps, with a focus on UI Testing and Load Performance Testing. Our environment includes:

  • Load Performance Testing: 1 Load Test Machine, 1 Test Controller, and 2 Agents
  • Coded UI Testing (CUIT): 5 Agents and 1 Controller

As part of this transition, we need to ensure compatibility with the following requirements:

  1. OS Support: Our chosen IaaS provider does not support desktop OS versions like Windows 7, 8, 10, or 11 and only supports Windows Server 2016 and above.
  2. Microsoft Test Agents and Controllers: We need to verify whether Azure DevOps supports Microsoft Test Agents and Controllers and identify the supported versions.
  3. Migration Considerations: We are looking for best practices on migrating our current VMs and testing infrastructure to Azure DevOps, particularly in terms of data migration, tool compatibility, and infrastructure requirements.

Could anyone provide insights on:

  • The specific versions of Microsoft Test Agents and Controllers supported by Azure DevOps?
  • Any known issues or considerations when migrating to Windows Server 2016 or newer for these testing tools?
  • Best practices for setting up UI Testing and Load Performance Testing environments on Azure DevOps, considering the limitations on desktop OS support?

Any advice, documentation, or resources would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!
