Hi all

Just a quick one, personally i dont think there is an option for this but thought i'd ask anyways

Currently we have an internal chat group called Chat 1. The members are all internal users

We are wanting to add an external user into the existing Chat 1 group however the rules for Teams is a new chat group will be created, Chat 2

Is there a way to transfer all the chat conversations and files from Chat 1 to Chat 2?

Hope to hear from you soon

Thanks

    Hi @tommy soo

You may only add external access participants to existing or ongoing chats that already include at least one external access participant. Otherwise, you’ll create a new group chat with the internal participants and the one or more external participants that you’re adding.

This is the design of Teams. If you want to invite external users to the group chat and keep the chat history, please make sure that the group chat already has an external user. You can also invite the external user to the group chat as a guest user.
