Help Needed to Automate VM Enrollment into Machine Groups During VMSS Creation

One thing you could try is to use an Azure Resource Manager template to create the VMSS and specify the Machine Group in the template. You can use the Microsoft.Compute/virtualMachineScaleSets/extensions resource type to add an extension to the VMSS that runs a PowerShell script to join the machine to the Machine Group.

To enroll VMs into a specific Machine Group in Power Automate at the time of their creation, you can use Azure Automation and Azure Logic Apps. Here are the high-level steps you can follow:

Create an Azure Automation account and a PowerShell runbook that enrolls the VM into the desired Machine Group. You can use the Add-AzVmToMachineGroup cmdlet to add the VM to the Machine Group. Make sure to test the runbook to ensure it works as expected.

Create an Azure Logic App that triggers when a new VM is created. You can use the Azure Event Grid trigger to detect when a new VM is created.

In the Logic App, add an action to run the PowerShell runbook created in step 1. You can use the Azure Automation runbook action to run the PowerShell runbook.

Save and test the Logic App to ensure it works as expected.

Once you have this set up, any new VM created will automatically be enrolled into the desired Machine Group.

What I did (and I'm still testing) is to use an Extension , after the VM is created and added to the domain, to afterwards, register the machine into the machine group!

To be honest, I did not think to use PAD because the machine itself it isn't still, logged in into the environment, so it would not see any flow, did you understand?
