Hi , I would like to ask for your help. I have a virtual machine that was working fine, but after reducing the compute resources on Azure, it’s no longer taking backups, and I’m getting this error: ExtensionVCRedistInstallationFailure. I followed the recommendation to install the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2013. I also tried restarting the VM to resolve any installation issues, but I’m still having no luck. I would greatly appreciate your assistance.Thanks

I already tried the link you sent .
Every day, the backup job starts, and it takes more than 7 hours, but then it fails.

ExtensionVCRedistInstallationFailure
Error message
Snapshot operation failed due to failure in installation of Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2013.
Recommended action
Please install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2013. If you are observing issues with installation or if it is already installed and you are observing this error, please restart the VM to clean installation issues

Ensure that the VM Agent is up to date: Verify that the VM Agent (WA Agent) is the latest version, as having an outdated agent can cause issues with the backup process.
Check for other backup services: Make sure that another backup service isn't running concurrently, which could interfere with the Azure Backup service.
Verify VM has internet connectivity: Ensure that the VM has proper internet connectivity, as lack of connectivity can prevent successful installation of required components.

There is some confusion about the Azure VM agent.
When I look at the Portal Azure VM overview, the agent version is listed as 2.7.41491.1131. However, when I check within the VM through the Control Panel, the installed Windows Azure VM agent version is 2.7.41491.1095. Is this a problem, or is it okay?
If it is a problem, what should I do? Should I uninstall the Azure VM agent from the Control Panel? If so, how do I reinstall the VM agent?

It's understandable to be concerned about the discrepancy in the Azure VM agent versions. The difference in version numbers between the Azure Portal and the Control Panel is generally not a problem. The Azure Portal might display the latest version available, while the Control Panel shows the version currently installed on the VM.
However, if you want to ensure that your VM is running the latest version of the Azure VM agent, you can manually update it. Here are the steps to do so:
Uninstall the current Azure VM agent:
- Open the Control Panel on your VM.
- Navigate to "Programs and Features."
- Find the "Windows Azure VM Agent" in the list, select it, and click "Uninstall."
- Navigate to "Programs and Features."
- Reinstall the Azure VM agent:
- Download the latest version of the Azure VM agent from the official Microsoft website - https://video2.skills-academy.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/extensions/agent-windows#upgrade-the-azure-windows-vm-agent
- Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
After reinstalling, you should see the updated version in both the Azure Portal and the Control Panel.
If there are issues with the agent after reinstallation, check the agent logs located typically in the
C:\WindowsAzuredirectory for troubleshooting information.If problems persist or if you encounter issues with agent functionalities, contact Azure Technical Support by raising a support request.
