Can you give me example for shared responsibility and service model related to like facebook?

I started learning azure i cannot see the big picture how it works.can i get an example like how facebook or instagram works in cloud computing based on their shared responsibility and their service model?

The Cloud Service Provider (CSP) is responsible for the security “of” the cloud, which includes physical infrastructure, hardware, and the foundational services.

The cloud provider is responsible for the physical hardware and facilities necessary to execute your work.

There are three primary cloud service models:

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): The CSP provides the basic infrastructure components like virtual machines, storage, and networks. The customer manages the operating systems, applications, and data. For example, Facebook might use IaaS to manage their own servers and storage but rely on a CSP for the physical data centers.

Platform as a Service (PaaS): The CSP provides a platform allowing customers to develop, run, and manage applications without dealing with the underlying infrastructure. Instagram might use PaaS to develop and deploy their application code, while the CSP handles the operating system, middleware, and runtime.

Software as a Service (SaaS): The CSP delivers fully functional applications over the internet. The customer uses the application without worrying about the underlying infrastructure or platform. For instance, Facebook’s internal tools for collaboration might use SaaS solutions like Office 365 or Google Workspace 1.

When using PaaS services, the operating system (OS) and other software are managed by the cloud provider. A good example of this is the Azure Database platform where the operating system and RDBMS are installed and configured by Microsoft, allowing you to start building database applications quickly. IaaS solutions are the most open ended; you are responsible for OS patching, as well as optimal configuration of your network and storage options. With an IaaS deployment, you are also responsible for software configuration.

For IaaS solutions running in Azure, Microsoft will manage any resource below the operating system, including the physical servers, storage and physical networking.

Example: Facebook and Instagram

Both platforms store vast amounts of user data, including photos, videos, and messages. They might use IaaS for scalable storage solutions and PaaS for managing databases and data processing.
