How to overcome the Foreign key constraint issues when we configure SQL DB Sync between 2 Azure SQL Databases.

It's common that we use Foreign Keys in SQL Database. So when we configure Sync Groups and trigger a Sync, we face issues due to foreign keys. so that we have sync the tables in sequential order. is it not possible to define the order of tables while we configure sync groups? otherwise it won't help much when we have to sync each table manually when we want auto sync at defined time.

SQL on-prem to azure sql db ? Azure sql db to azure sql db?

2024-08-16T17:50:54.98+00:00 Depending on the source and destination, we might have different alternatives for you. That said, most of the alternatives would have almost the same limitations as data sync, it would focus on single-table replications, or multi-table unless it is not chained together.

When dealing with foreign key constraints issues during SQL DB sync between two Azure SQL Databases you can face some challenges which is common, so in order to overcome this challenge we can use some concepts like Sequential Syncing where we makes sure the tables are synced in the correct order. Tables with foreign key dependencies should be synced after the tables they depend on or we should use the best coding practice for Azure SQL Data Sync such as avoiding ON UPDATE or ON DELETE CASCADE actions. We can also implement custom logic to handle foreign key constraints.
