    Hi @EnterpriseArchitect

Thank you for posting this in Microsoft Q&A.

I understand that you are looking for differences between Tenant type Workforce and Azure AD B2C.

The main difference between a Workforce tenant and an Azure AD B2C tenant lies in their purpose and functionality. A Workforce tenant is designed for employee identity and access management, whereas an Azure AD B2C tenant is focused on customer identity and access management (CIAM).

A workforce tenant represents a single organization and is intended for managing your employees, business apps, and other internal resources. If you've worked with Microsoft Entra ID, you're already familiar with a workforce tenant. This is the standard tenant that's automatically created when your organization signs up for a Microsoft cloud service subscription, such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Intune, or Microsoft 365. In a workforce tenant, the External ID feature B2B collaboration lets your employees collaborate with external business partners and guests. You can create additional workforce tenants in either the Microsoft Entra admin center or the Azure portal.

Azure AD B2C is a customer identity access management (CIAM) solution capable of supporting millions of users and billions of authentications per day. It provides business-to-customer identity as a service. Your customers can use their preferred social, enterprise, or local account identities to get single sign-on access to your applications and APIs. Azure AD B2C is built on the same technology as Microsoft Entra ID but for a different purpose and is a separate service. It allows businesses to build customer facing applications, and then allow anyone to sign up and sign in to those applications with no restrictions on user account.

You can migrate from the Workforce to Azure AD B2C.Please refer below document for more information: https://video2.skills-academy.com/en-us/azure/active-directory-b2c/user-migration

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.

    Thanks,

    Navya.
