Authenticator problem with student email

The problem occurs when I try logging in to my student canvas portal. I know my student email and password but need a code from my two-factor authenticator app. Yet my authenticator app tells me to set up two-factor authentication for student account.

This is a common problem at my school that many students and staff are trying to fix yet, there is nothing that they can do. I have done all I can in terms of contacting student support through phone calls, voicemails, and email along with administration requests (which completion emails I have received but still not resolved) and am now wondering if this is a problem that someone from the Microsoft team can help with.

Students have been told that with the inclusion of Microsoft 365 to our student logins and emails and the likes, is what caused this problem. I hope this can be resolved soon because a lot of students have no access to their online class portals.

To reiterate: I cannot set up two-step authentication from my mobile device because I have no way of generating or getting a QR code to scan as well as haven't found what code and URL I would use. I am locked out of my student email because a two-factor code is required to login and furthermore have no way of seeing an email with said code because it is sent to my student email.
