Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Here are the steps to set up VM backups:

Set Up MABS Server and Storage:

    • Deploy a Windows VM that will host the MABS server.
    • Configure your storage capacity according to guidelines (e.g., average VM size, number of VMs, total size).

    Install MABS:

    • Install Microsoft Azure Backup Server on the Windows VM.
    • Connect MABS to your vCenter in Azure VMware Solutions (AVS).

    Configure VM Protection:

    • Detect and protect VMs managed by vCenter (VMware server).
    • Set up protection groups in the MABS Administrator console.
    • Select the VMs you want to protect from the Hyper-V host servers or cluster nodes.

Remember to adjust the steps based on your specific environment and requirements.

@Ashadeep Parida Thank you for contacting us on Microsoft Q&A platform. Happy to help!!!You can install MABS and take the backup of those Linux VMS as Vcenter communicate to MABS server using agentless communication so there should not be any issues if the VMs are not part of domain.

You can refer to below mentioned articles for steps for installing MABS.
