How does the Access Tier of an object affect the Get Metadata Activity? If an object is Cold or Archived for example, will the Get Metadata Activity have to wait for the object to be retrieved?

@Pendleton, David Thanks for posting your query on Microsoft Q&A.

    1. Hot, Cool, and Cold Tiers are online access tiers, meaning the data is immediately accessible. The Get Metadata Activity can retrieve metadata without any delay.
    2. Archive Tier is an offline tier. While the actual data in the Archive tier is not immediately accessible and requires rehydration (which can take several hours), the metadata remains available for read access. This means you can still use the Get Metadata Activity to retrieve metadata, such as properties, metadata, and index tags, without waiting for the object to be rehydrated.
