Unable to deploy AKS LTS 1.27 in multiple regions

I have been deploying AKS LTS 1.27 in EAST US for several months. However, this week my deployments started to fail. Only the system node pool is deployed. When I try and manually create an AKS cluster in the Portal I can no-longer select 1.27 as the version for AKS LTS in EAST US. I was able to select 1.27 in West US 2 - but then today that also stopped working. Now in EAST US and West US 2 I can only deploy AKS LTS 1.30.

Is this expected behavior? How can AKS LTS 1.27 be supported until June 2025 if I can no-longer deploy additional node pools without upgrading to AKS LTS 1.30.

    Hello Stuart Rogers

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A platform.
I have reviewed with product team and there is an on-going issue limited to 2 scenarios:

Azure Portal add NodePool experience is broken for LTS

Terraform nodepool add experience is broken for LTS

While the product team is actively working to fix this for above 2 approaches, this can be workaround by directly using az cli or rest API. Thanks again for reporting the issue. I will keep a tab on this issue and post here once the issue is fixed.
