I have purchased a domain through azure and setup static website in a storage account. I now need to point the domain to the static website. I did a whois lookup on the domain to find the register and it is GoDaddy. I called them up but they were not able to help and pointed me back to azure.

I have spent hours on this simple task. I need help.

    @lui_b ,

    Can you please elaborate?

    If my understanding is correct:

    Please elaborate on your ask

    If my understanding is correct:

    App Service Domains use GoDaddy for domain registration and Azure DNS to host the domains.

    This is why you see GoDaddy as the Domain Registrar and this is expected

    • This does not mean you cannot manage your records using Azure. You can very well manage such DNS Zones from Portal itself
    • See : Manage custom DNS records
    • From here, you should be able to add or remove or edit the DNS records.

    To map a custom domain to Storage Account Static website, see : Mapping a custom domain to a static website URL

    Kindly let us know if this helps or you need further assistance on this issue.

    Thanks,

    Kapil
