Purchased a domain through azure, but not able to point it to my site.

• You purchased a domain through Azure App Service : Buy an App Service domain
• Now you want to use the purchased domain with Static Storage Account Site
• Is this correct?
  • NOTE : App Service and Storage Account Static website are 2 different services

App Service Domains use GoDaddy for domain registration and Azure DNS to host the domains.

This is why you see GoDaddy as the Domain Registrar and this is expected

• This does not mean you cannot manage your records using Azure. You can very well manage such DNS Zones from Portal itself
• See : Manage custom DNS records
• From here, you should be able to add or remove or edit the DNS records.

To map a custom domain to Storage Account Static website, see : Mapping a custom domain to a static website URL

• This only works for HTTP traffic
• For HTTPS,
  • First Integrate an Azure Storage account with Azure CDN
  • And then Add a custom domain to the CDN endpoint
