SAP HANA B1 installation in HA mode cannot proceed due to Azure Load Balancer ping restriction

The issue you're encountering with the SAP HANA B1 installation in HA mode due to the Azure Load Balancer ping restriction is a known behavior. The Internal Load Balancer (ILB) Virtual IP (VIP) does not respond to ping requests, as this is expected behavior in Azure.

As a workaround on this issue follow the below steps:

Make sure that the VMs behind the ILB can communicate with each other directly using their private IP addresses. It will confirm that the internal network setup is functioning correctly, independent of the load balancer.

• Verify that the Internal Load Balancer is configured with the correct backend pool, health probes, and load-balancing rules. Misconfigurations here could lead to failures in health checks or improper routing of traffic.
• Temporarily configure a basic HTTP/TCP service on the VMs and use it as the probe for the ILB. This can help confirm whether the issue is with probe configuration or with the ILB itself.

Hi.. Thanks for the quick answers. on the recommendation HTTP probe, it is working. But for SAP installation it uses ping command and it is failing. This is the reason checking if any references do you have where customer successfully running SAP HANA B1 in HA mode
