Hello,

As the title suggests, I have a problem with my Microsoft Authenticator login. I have recently upgraded from an older phone to my current new one because the lower half of the screen of the old one stopped working and I no longer am able to log into that phone. Oh well, not a big deal.

I tried logging into my accounts on the new phone and was able to basically log into everything I had on my old phone. Everything, except my school microsoft account which requires the authenticator app. The authenticator app in question is on my old phone, which I cannot log into.

I tried installing the authenticator app on my new phone, but even then logging into that school account required me to use the authenticator app. I checked some other forum posts about this issue, and they were able to go around this 2FA by logging into the microsoft account on another device, but I unable to do that because I still need the authenticator app to log in anywhere. This also means I cannot log into any of my school websites or outlook.

I am still trying to find a way to unlock my old phone, so I am not looking for answers regarding that. I am however interested if there is anything I can do with the Authenticator app?

For more info, my old phone was an Iphone 11, new phone is Iphone 15. The school microsoft account is obviously different from the one I am posting with.

Also, at the screen where the authenticator app asks for an authenticator code, there is an option to choose 'I can't use my Microsoft Authenticator app right now'. Clicking it gives me two options; The first being to approve a request on the Microsoft Authentication app, which is useless. The second is to use a verification code displayed in the Microsoft Authentication app, which is also useless.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Best Regards,
Marko Gutovic
