Dear Azure Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

We are currently experiencing an issue related to an old application named OfficeCertRequest.exe that appears to be running somewhere in our Azure environment. This application is generating frequent emails through SendGrid, which are being sent to one of our internal email addresses, filling up the recipient's inbox every five minutes.

This application was initially set up years ago to monitor a web portal for actuarial certificate requests. The software was originally installed on a physical computer, later moved to another environment, and eventually transitioned to Azure. However, the portal it was polling is no longer in existence, and we now need to locate and remove the application and any associated files (e.g., OfficeCertRequest.exe.config, HTMLAgilityPack.dll, etc.).

We have already checked the following Azure resources but were unable to locate the application:

  • Azure Virtual Machines
  • Azure App Services
  • Azure Function Apps
  • Azure Automation Accounts
  • Azure Storage Accounts (Blobs and File Shares)
  • Azure Batch Accounts
  • Azure Logic Apps
  • Azure DevOps Pipelines
  • Azure Service Fabric
  • Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

Given this, we request your assistance in locating this application within our Azure environment and guiding us through the process of removing it, including any related files or services.

If any additional information is needed to assist with this request, please let us know.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best regards,
Francis

"The software was originally installed on a physical computer, later moved to another environment, and eventually transitioned to Azure." Based on this, it will look to me it was migrated to a VM on azure. If this is the case, maybe that will be a good place to check.

However, if that is not the case you may try Monitor Logs for activity.

As a whole, I would recommend you open a support request for this as you need information the community won't be able to access. To do this, see: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/support/create-ticket

You can mark it 'Accept Answer' and 'Upvote' if this helped you

    Regards,
