Hello,

We are planning to use the GPT-4o model from Azure OpenAI Service for an internal project. However, since the model is not available in the Japan East region, we must use the Global-Standard region.

To comply with our company's export control regulations, we need to identify all countries where data processing occurs. Could you please clarify which specific regions or countries handle data processing when using the GPT-4o model in the Global-Standard region?

While we have reviewed the information on the Azure website regarding supported regions for the Global-Standard model, it is unclear if these are the regions where actual data processing might occur.

    Azure OpenAI offers three types of deployments. These provide a varied level of capabilities that provide trade-offs on: throughput, SLAs, and price.

    Regarding your specific query, Azure OpenAI Service stores all customer data at rest in the Geo selected by the customer, but for any model deployment type labeled as ‘Global,’ may process prompts and completions sent to and output by that deployment, for inferencing or fine-tuning, in any Azure OpenAI region globally.
