I created a record in private DNS and might delete that VM and reprovision a VM again during my app executions, I want to know if private DNS will delete the non-existed VM record?

    @Mummineni, Deeptavarna

    Thank you for reaching out.

    I understand you have created a record in private DNS zone and might delete and reprovision the VM during your app executions. You want to know if the private DNS will delete the record of the non-existent VM. Auto registration is disabled in this case

    When Auto-registration is disabled the records for Azure VM are not added automatically to Private DNS Zone and have to be created manually. When the VM is deleted the record in the DNS zone is Not deleted. You will have to delete the DNS record manually and create it again when you re-provision the VM.

    If Azure DNS private zones auto registration feature is enabled then the auto registered DNS record will be deleted when the VM is deleted. More details hereHope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
