I need help on AzureOpen AI.

is a Azure Template have issue ? I not able to deploy to webapp.

how I can solve it ? thanks a lot

Hi. I am facing the same issue. Support would be much appreciated.

Tried using new Azure Open AI UI and Old Interface

Model, Resource Group, Web App all deployed in the same Region (West US) as referred in this ticket https://github.com/microsoft/sample-app-aoai-chatGPT/issues/1071

The resource group, Open AI resource, Model deployment all are started afresh.

Even after that the same error appears.

"Web App deployment failed

Observed in another subscription that the deployments with GPT 3.5 Turbo + an embedding model (embedding-ada-002) are being deployed without any issues. Had deployed web apps with vector embeddings prior to this and have removed them. Right now there are not deployments in app-services resource. I created a new resource group and started all from scratch. Could the references to those earlier deployments are the root cause ?

I'm having the exact same issue with the RG and all resources in East US. I've tried Azure AI Studio, Azure OpenAI (current UI), and Azure OpenAI (legacy UI). All fail in the same way. Really need this addresses as I have to give a demo in a couple of days. Thx!

We are able to reproduce this issue at our end and many customers have reported this issue already.

The Product Owners are aware of the issue and working to address it. The investigation is in progress. I will keep you posted about the updates and fix once it is ready.

Re-tested in another subscription using Azure OpenAI Studio and was able to deploy in France Central and West Europe. Will check US East 2 and let's check again on Monday, just in case if extra time is required to sync the change.

Weird...I just tried again but it's not working. Can you share the steps you took in deploying so we can reproduce them? Did you use the legacy ai studio or the new one?

When I deploy something by pressing deploy as web app, I automatically get a connected Auth service ("Your web app will be configured with Azure Active Directory authentication enabled. It may take a few minutes to apply after deployment completes, during which time you will not be able to chat in the app. Please wait 10 minutes, then reload the app and log in to begin chatting.") Is that the standard for everyone?

Update (as of 11/Sept)

Released a hotfix to fix template parsing to all regions.

Root Cause:

On August 26th, we pushed a change to the Web App Deployment template that affected how embedding information was processed. An oversight in this change allowed for a condition where the embedding information would be parsed as a null value, causing the deployment to fail. We resolved this issue by adding a safe fallback condition so that embedding information is never a null value.

I've been able to since deploy my Web App in US East 2. I will admit initially I also faced the error "Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'split')." I moved back to the old UI and rebuilt by bot - and then was able to deploy without issue.

Now working for me as well. I switched to Azure OpenAI, deployed, and got a quote issue for East US. Switched back to Azure AI Studio and deployed to East US 2 and it is working. Thank you!

Without the "add your data" feature turned on, the deployment works.
I however want to use the Search Service (indexing Sharepoint), and as soon as I add this as a datasource the deployment fails.
Note 1: The chat playground in Azure AI Studio handles the added datasource without problems.

Note 2: I am provisioning new web apps, not updating existing ones.

I am unable to deploy a webapp through either Azure AI Studio or Azure OpenAI. I get the following error message:

Web App deployment failed The template deployment '45ebc5b1-c05f-4c2f-a9ff-2267a47ef37e' is not valid according to the validation procedure. The tracking id is 'ee5ccb0b-74a3-40d7-9a22-c6f6ceb0bf22'. See inner errors for details. Trace ID : e93be2a7-7cb2-427c-975b-66a9c3b56e91

Please help, I'm under a deadline.

Updated: so I was finally able to deploy using Azure OpenAI Studio and the OLD UI. Doing that I got a message that I had a quota error for East US, so I was able to deploy to East US 2. Just updating this in case anyone hits the same issue.

It would be very nice if the other permutations (Azure AI Studio and OpenAI Studio (NEW UI) would sufficiently explain error situations.

Hello Springer, Dominik,

For the latest error you got on "ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'app'", will you please try the following:

In your Web App, click Deployment -> Deployment Center, then open Logs section to see if there were any deployment failures (very likely, yes).

After that, click Sync button as shown below, wait for its completion and verify that the latest status is Success (Active). If yes, please restart the Web App and test it again. Hopefully, it will resolve the issue
