Unable to close Microsoft account due to "work organization" error message

I have no active subscriptions but am unable to close my Microsoft account. An error message says "You need to leave your work organization" even after following all the necessary steps, such as selecting the number of days to delete, etc.

According to Microsoft Support Agents, the Commercial Team has information about the company that asked me to use my personal MS account at work, which is required to close my account. However, as I don't have a business account, the Commercial Team is blocking me from contacting them either via online support or over the phone.

I've spent 5 months trying to close my Microsoft account by continually following the recommended steps but only get as far as the "Work organization" error message. My last employer has confirmed they deleted my MS account, so I know they're not preventing me from proceeding.

After 5 hours over the past 2 days in online chats with MS Support, during which three agents sent me links and tried their end to help, it was suggested you might be the only people who can assist me to resolve this issue. Please can somebody help?

Thank you, JC
