Hi Team,

I hope you all are doing well. I have a question: Is there an approach to create a shortcut for a package received in Software Center directly on users' desktop machines?

For example, let's say I have a package named "ABC" that contains PowerShell scripts and related files. This package is deployed to target machines using SCCM. Is it possible to use a script to create a shortcut for this specific package on the user's desktop when it appears in Software Center?

I have a clarification question.

Is the ask:

"hey, I need to put a shortcut on the desktop, and that is the payload of the package, to put a shortcut on the desktop. That shortcut goes to <some where>, but not anything to do with CM itself"

or is the ask:

"Hey, my users are confused by clicking on "Software Center", and searching for "thing I want them to install" in the Application section of Software Center, and I want to make it easier on them by putting a shortcut on their desktop, which they double-click to install "This thing from Software Center".

Per my experience, you can use XCOPY.EXE to create a shortcut for the package to have a try. Similar thread for your reference:

Thanks for your response @Simon Ren-MSFT , Will this be suitable for a .ps1 file? I need to deploy a PowerShell script package instead of an .exe. Does the above answer help with creating a shortcut for the package deployed via SCCM to the target machine?

or, using package ID can we create shortcut on users desktop?
