2 specific updates are failing, the rest are good. sfc/scannow gives error, DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth gives error

last month I had these 2 updates repeatedly fail

  1. 2024-08 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5041585)
    1. Install error - 0x800705b9
  2. 2024-08 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 23H2 for x64 (KB5042099)
    1. Install error - 0x800700c1

i ignored it for a month and now that i need by laptop to be updated for respondus lockdown browser i have decided to fix the problem.

ive tried. many things as follows with there error messages

  1. sfc/scannow
    1. Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service.
  2. DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth
    1.   3. Ive also tried doing a windows reset where only the windows reset but cloud download or local install dont work. the give an error as well. ive also tried factory reset both ways but both fail.
  4. then i tried doing a windows repair but that also fails every time i try
  5. following that i tried to do a windows reinstall from an online download
    1. itll get to 55% then quit the program and say error
  6. i updated my bios and drivers but still no luck

i am stuck right now as i have ran out of ideas on how to fix this problem

if anybody has any ideas that i should try that would be awesome

ps. i got this laptop last year.

    How do you install the KB5041585 and KB5042099, using SCCM/WSUS or manual installation? If you are manually install the updates, it is suggested to try to contact Windows forum to get accurate help. Here is the support link:

    Use the source method as indicated in the error

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:wim:E:\Sources\Install.wim:1 /limitaccess
