My App Service Domain expired and I can't manually renew

I have an App Service Domain which I forgot to put on Auto Renew and has now expired. It has expired on August 24, 2024 and is more than 18 days (around 25 days I think) and is in Held status and I can't manually renew anymore, the button for manual renewal is disabled. Am I still able somehow renew this domain?

@JeromeL Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A, apologize for any inconvenience caused with this issue.

As called out in the public documentation from Go Daddy here domains that were expired more than 26days ago those will go to auction. You can still manually renew for the standard price plus the applicable redemption fee.

@VenkateshDodda-MSFT Thank you for your reply. I checked the link you provided and I read what you mentioned about redemption and it seems you can do this in GoDaddy. My problem is when I created the App Service Domain, from what I remember, I just chose a domain name and paid for it but didn't create an account during the process in GoDaddy. So I am unsure what credentials to use in GoDaddy to view my domain.

I read somewhere that Azure creates one for me (not sure if correct)? Is there anyway in Azure I can find out the particular GoDaddy account this domain is tied too?

@VenkateshDodda-MSFT Thank you for the reply. I've checked the links you've given and it seems I should be able to renew in GoDaddy, but my problem is the GoDaddy account. If I remember correctly, when I purchased an App Service Domain in Azure, it didn't ask me for a GoDaddy account; I just paid for the domain and it says it GoDaddy is the registrar.

I am now sure what account to log in to in GoDaddy, is there a way in Azure to check the GoDaddy account associated with the domain?

Ideally, App Service domains use GoDaddy for domain registration and Azure DNS to host the domains and Azure Won't create any accounts for the user in GoDaddy.
