Cannot deploy React Azure Static Web App with Azure Function API

I'm trying to publish a full stack react app with an Azure Static App and running a backend api with Azure Functions.

However, no matter how I configure the build profile files, my app cannot recognize any of my Azure functions when the web app is deployed, i.e.,

Are using Azure Devops or Github actions as source control?

What is the error message you are seeing your deployment logs?

I hope you are following the documentation steps mentioned here and also could you please help in sharing your "azure-static-web-apps-<DEFAULT_HOSTNAME>.yml" also GitHub sample to check and assist your further.

I am using Github actions for source control.
I am not seeing any errors in the deployment logs.
Here is a copy of my yml file:

Can you make the below property changes to above shared .yml and retry the deployment.

app_location: "client" # App source code path api_location: "app" # Api source code path - optional output_location: "dist" # Built app content directory - optional

@Jon Holmberg When I used these values app_location: "client" ,api_location: "app" ,output_location: "dist"

I am able to deploy the code and request the static webapp without any issues.

After the changes, I'm not getting a 400 error anymore but getting a 500 error "Backend call failure"

I'm still not seeing a managed Azure function being deployed as I'm still not able to enable Application insights for my SWA:
