Hi all,

I recently had my Mac fixed following water damage. I have had to redownload my apps such as Word and Excel which I use very often for university.

When I try to use both now I am having multiple issues:

  • In Word a blue box comes up often on my screen when I'm trying to types and adjusts how I'm typing. I have included an image of this as a box around the document, but it often comes up around functions such as Insert and Draw and the actions within these. I would like to remove this. Word
  • I would like to be able to keep the line that I am typing on in Word at eye level, but when I type at the top of a page, the page jumps so that the top of the page is at the top of the screen. How can I stop this happening?
  • In Excel, I am getting similar boxes come up, this time in green. Same issue, I would like to stop these appearing as they get in the way and I don't know their actual function. I have attached an image of this too.Excel
  • Finally in Excel I'm having general issues with typing. I cannot add spaces between words in cells, and when I click 'tab' to move to the next cell, it just moves the green box that I mentioned in the previous point.

I have a MacBook Air M2 2023 with mac Sequoia version 15.0. My Word and Excel are Version 16.89.1 (24091630).

Any advice for the above issues would be much appreciated. More than happy to answer any further questions if needs be!
