I would like to create a DLP Policy that only detects keywords found in the attachment / document header & footers only. But can't seems to find the option in DLP policy settings. What I can see is only the "Header matches patterns" or "Header contains words or phrases". I believe this 2 are for Email message header instead of the document header.

Appreciate if anyone could advise on this. Thanks.

    Hi @Marcus Wong Theen Nam

Greetings & Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum! Thanks for posting your query!

Currently, Microsoft Purview's Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies don’t directly support targeting only the headers and footers within the content of attached documents. The options you see like "Header matches patterns" or "Header contains words or phrases" are indeed focused on email message headers, not document headers or footers within attachments.

To configure a DLP policy to detect words specifically in the header and footer of documents.
