In the Prerequisites & Endpoints for Migration Manager guide, it lists the "Required Endpoints" but does not say how to go about opening them up on a Windows Server where the Migration Manager agent is installed. Will someone please provide instructions for doing that? https://video2.skills-academy.com/en-us/sharepointmigration/mm-prerequisites#required-endpoints

    Hi CShallcross,

Thank you for posting in the Q&A Forums.

While the required endpoints are listed in the Migration Manager Prerequisites and Endpoints guide, it is not usually necessary to manually open these endpoints during the installation and configuration of the Migration Manager agent. The Migration Manager agent handles communication with these endpoints automatically. The following are some key points and recommendations to ensure that the Migration Manager agent is able to properly communicate with the required endpoints:

    Check firewall settings:

Ensure that the firewall settings on the Windows server allow the Migration Manager Agent to communicate with the required endpoints.

This may involve allowing specific inbound and outbound rules, as well as opening the necessary ports.

    Network Configuration:

Ensure that the server has a stable network connection and can access the external services required by Migration Manager.

Check any network proxies, VPNs, or firewall devices to ensure that they are not blocking Migration Manager agent communication.

    Proxy Configuration:

If the Migration Manager agent needs to access an external network through a proxy server, make sure that the proxy settings have been configured correctly.

This can usually be set in the Migration Manager agent's configuration file.

    Updates and patches:

Ensure that both the Windows server and the Migration Manager agent have been updated to the latest version and that all necessary patches have been applied.

This helps to resolve any compatibility issues or known problems that may exist.

    Logging and monitoring:

Check the log files of the Migration Manager agent for any error or warning messages regarding communication issues.

Use a network monitoring tool to track communication between the Migration Manager agent and required endpoints and identify any potential issues.

    Best regards

    NeuviJ
