Is there an OpenXML PDF that lists child nodes?

Hi all;

I have the spec as the file c065533_ISO_IEC_29500-1_2016.pdf and unlike the previous spec, for each node, it does not list the child nodes with links to them. Is there a version of the spec that does have the child node lists & links?

Hi Tom;

In the older specs, for each item like say 17.3.1 <p> there would be a table in the text explaining that node. That table would list each child node allowed under <p> with a very short description of that node, the number of it (like 17.3.1.1) and that was a link to that node.

The bookmarks work, but the table listing was nicer, both that it was right below and I can then have a wider page because I don't have to show the bookmarks.

The table listing in 17.3.1.22 <p> has a table with the attributes listed for <p>, for example <p rsidDel=A1E2334...

I have C071691e.pdf (ISO 29500-1:2016) which I have both saved from a couple of years ago and just downloaded again to verify, as well as c061750_ISO_IEC_29500-1_2012.pdf (ISO 29500-1:2012) which I've had for years also, and these all show the same structure and text for 17.3.1.22.

I'm not sure where your version of the standard pdf came from but I do see some references on other web sites. Perhaps this was a draft or intermediate version. I would just download from the ISO site again and make sure you're getting the C071691e.pdf version.

Yes, but in previous versions there was a similar table of all the allowed child nodes. I tried to find one of the old PDFs to show and couldn't.

I'm guessing the answer is there is not a version with the sub-element table. Not a biggie, just wanted to get it if such a thing exists.

I'll ask our ISO standards representative but IIRC, I've not seen a table with child elements (i.e. DOM nodes) at least on most of those element descriptions. The 2012 version I referred to was pretty old, I've had it for years as I mentioned. Let me know if you find it.

the list of child elements in contained in ECMA-376, 3rd Edition / June 2011.

Thanks for the info. I have ECMA 376 4th Edition from December 2012 and that one doesn't have the child elements listed in the table of section 17.3.1.22 as Dave had requested. Perhaps they removed them after June 2011, not sure.

UPDATE: I downloaded the latest and see that you're right. The June 2011 did indeed have the list of child elements. Thanks for pointing that out. anonymous user
