My Azure Services has been disabled since it says subscription has been disabled

I received email from Microsoft Azure saying your services have been disabled because your subscription expired. The visual studio enterprise subscription -MPN has expired, however my company has renewed the VS Enterprise subscription , however, it is with a different subscription ID(The ID that begins with 9388....) as in the attached picture. Now I could not use my VMs. why the renewal is not on the same subscription ID?

For your information, I have activated the Azure benefits as well.

Also attached is the error I got when I started my VMs,

Is this issue happening because the VMs are linked to the subscription ID that has been disabled ?

How to resolve this issue ?

I got your question.

Please refer to the below steps this will resolve the issue: -

You’re selecting the wrong subscription name which creating the virtual machine as per the screenshot which you have shared the selected subscription name is expired which holds 2710 subscription name MPN subscription

While creating the Virtual machine please created it under Visual studio enterprise subscription which holds 9388 subscription id

Example below: -

Note: Please select here subscription name: Visual studio enterprise subscription

With these steps, you should be able to create the Virtual machine under Visual studio enterprise subscription. Hope this helps!

Hi thanks for the answers. I am aware of this, but why the renewal is not made on the same subscription ID( in my case is 2710....)? MY Virtual machines are in the subscription ID that starts with 2710. I wanted to use back the same Virtual machine. i do not want to create a new one.

For seniors like this, as long as the subscription is active, you cannot be able to use or create VMs in 2710. Please verify with the team responsible for managing this subscription to ensure its active. If needed, they can reactivate it, which will allow you to create or modify existing VMs.

why can't use the VM when the subscription is active? or is it a typo error from your side? What do you mean by "Seniors like this" ?

As long as the subscription is active, you should be able to create or modify the resources. However, the screenshot you shared shows that the subscription is currently disabled. Until it becomes active, you won’t be able to create or modify the VM. If the subscription is still in a disabled status, please verify with the team responsible for managing it to ensure it gets reactivated and active.

Hi @Ashok Gandhi Kotnana the person in charge mentioned that " our Enteprise license was disabled and reenable again recently due to Microsoft license subscription renewal, some resource got deallocated during that time " . so it seems the way forward is to use the new subscription ID and create the VM? is that possible to clone the VM from the old subscription ? Pls suggest what i can do ?

Thanks for letting me know.

Check VM Status After Re-enabling: If the subscription is reenabled, verify that the VM shows a running status. If it is stopped, please start the VM. When a subscription is disabled, all resources within it stop running, so manual startup is necessary. If the VM is not running, proceed to Step 2.

Moving a Resource Group: You can transfer the Resource Group to another subscription, which will automatically move all resources within it to the new subscription so your VM will also get moved. If moving the Resource Group is not preferred, proceed to Step 3.

Take the snapshot of the VM: for taking this follow the below steps

Once you have taken the snapshot, From the snapshot you need to create a disk, please follow the below steps

Select the new subscription where you want to migrate, choose a resource group within it, and enter the disk name. Leave the remaining tabs with their default settings.

Review and create the disk. Once the disk is created from the snapshot, follow the steps below to create a VM from this disk

Select the new subscription and resource group where you want to migrate. Be sure to choose the disk image created from the snapshot as the VM image and select your disk which is created form snapshot

Review and create the VM. With these steps, you should be able to Migrate the Virtual machine to newly created subscription. Hope this helps!
