How to stop my Windows 11 Pro desktop machine from randomly rebooting?

For three months my Windows 11 desktop machine has been randomly rebooting. Hardware wise, I have changed the CPU (Twice), the motherboard, the RAM and the power supply.

I have initiated a Windows reset (Keeping data) nothing stops the problem ... except. If I have a data streaming to the computer such as sound or video it never reboots. It only happenes when the machine is idle. I may be reading a document or looking at a static web page and the screen will go black and the sytem reboots. The event log always gives a Kernel Power error code 41.

Anyone got any ideas. Windows version is, now 24H2, build 26100.2161. It seems to happen more frequently when Outlook 2019 is open.

Random reboots in Windows can often be attributed to hardware issues or software conflicts. Since you've already replaced several hardware components, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue further:

    1. Check Power Supply: Ensure that your power supply is adequate for your system's requirements. An underpowered or faulty power supply can lead to unexpected reboots.
    2. Monitor Temperatures: Overheating can cause a system to reboot. Use monitoring software to check the internal temperatures of your CPU and other components.
    3. Disable Overclocking: If your system is overclocked, revert to default settings to see if stability improves.
    4. Event Logs: Since you're seeing Kernel Power error code 41, this indicates that the system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down. Check for other related event logs that might provide more context, such as Event ID 6008, which indicates an unexpected shutdown.
    5. Driver Updates: Ensure all drivers, especially for critical components like the graphics card and motherboard, are up to date. Sometimes, outdated drivers can lead to instability.
    6. Check for Software Conflicts: Since you mentioned that the issue occurs more frequently with Outlook 2019 open, consider checking for updates or reinstalling the application. It may also be helpful to run the system in Safe Mode to see if the issue persists.
    7. Memory Test: Run a memory diagnostic tool to check for RAM issues. Faulty memory can cause random reboots.
    8. Check for Malware: Run a full system scan to rule out any malware that might be causing instability.

If the problem continues after these steps, you might want to consider more in-depth diagnostics or consulting with a professional.

    Hello,

If the problem persists after following the above steps, you can check if the following method helps.

    1. Disable Fast Startup:

Go to Control Panel > System and Security > Power Options. Click Choose what the power button does and then click Change settings that are currently unavailable. Uncheck Turn on Fast Startup.

    1. Check for system file corruption:

Run System File Checker (SFC) and Deployment Image Servicing and Management Tool (DISM) scans:

    sfc /scannow

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

These tools can help detect and repair corrupted system files.

    1. Use the Power Troubleshooter:

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters and run the Power Troubleshooter.

    1. Clean boot:

Perform a clean boot to see if any third-party software is causing the problem. This involves starting Windows with minimal drivers and startup programs.

    Best regards
