Configuring Resend Delay and Limit for Verification Codes in Microsoft Entra External ID.

In Microsoft Entra External ID, the "Resend Code" button for signup and 2FA becomes available only after a 90-seconds delay. If users don’t receive the code immediately, waiting a full minute can lead to frustration, especially when multiple resends are required. Additionally, users are limited to receiving the passcode a maximum of 6 times by clicking "Try Again" before they must restart the entire login process.

Is there any configuration available to reduce the delay between resend attempts or increase the resend limit to improve user experience? Are there best practices or alternative approaches to ensure timely code delivery without impacting security?

Hi @Aakash Goswami , unfortunately there isn't a direct configuration in Microsoft Entra External ID that allows administrators to reduce the delay between resend attempts or increase the resend limit for passcodes. These settings are in place to prevent abuse and ensure security, balancing the user experience with the need to protect against potential automated attacks.

Have you thought about using authentication apps like Microsoft Authenticator? These apps can provide codes without needing to wait for an SMS or email, and might make this process easier for the user.

Please let me know if you have any questions and I can help you further.
