Data Disk Backup

I currently have a data disk connected to my VM - the VM uses CentOS and cPanel. The data disk in question is mounted as the disk where all accounts are stored.

Firstly - is there a chance that this disk can go faulty making the data in-readable?
If that is the case - is there a way within Azure to automatically back up and sync that data disk to another data disk meaning I always have a second instance to retrieve the data from if needed?

@Wayne Baker As I understand do you need to backup the Azure data disk am I correct? If am wrong please correct me Azure consistently deliver enterprise-grade durability for infrastructure as a service (IaaS) disks, with an industry-leading ZERO% annualized failure rate.

Azure Backup supports backing up all the disks (OS and data) in a VM together using the Virtual Machine backup solution. You have critical data to be backed up in only one disk and you do not want to back up the rest of the disks attached to a VM. This minimises the backup storage costs.
