Microsoft.compute/disk daily cost

Hi,

I run my own small business doing development work for a Microsoft product. Through lifecycle services you have the option to install a demo environment on Azure. You also have the option to stop and start the environment. I am very careful to stop the environments when not in use as to not consume my Action pack credit too quickly. However, in looking at my cost analysis I see a daily cost against something called Microsoft.compute/disk even though the environments are not running. Is this something that I can turn off so I don't incur that cost?

Edit: When viewing this grouped by service it appears to just be storage cost.

Thank you,
Chris

Hello @Christopher Bagge , Do you have any OS or Data disks attached to this VM/Demo environment? Is it a Premium/Managed Disk? The Microsoft.compute/disk namespace suggests you have an attached disk which explains why you may still be incurring charges even though the VMs are stopped-deallocated.

Here's how you can check & remove the disk if (any) no longer needed. Please note this doesnt delete the underlying storage account.
Carefully read and follow the storage account deletion steps if needed.

Dont hesitate to ping if you have any followup questions.

    Cheers.
