Hey everyone,
We developed an C#-Webapp which translates phrases of configuration files (of other programms) in different languages. The source language we used was German and the problem was that some phrases (or words) weren't translated.
Example of MS translation:
Grundliste... -> Grundliste... even Google Translate (Browser Version) was able to translate this german word to -> basic list...
Vertreterpflege -> Vertreterpflege Google: Representative care
Listenstatus... -> Listenstatus... Google: List status ...
And this happens with a lot of german words where nouns have been chained. In german it is allowed to chain a lot of nouns together to create one longer word.
Therefore my question is, does anyone know, why MS Translator can't translate these, but Google can?

There are also some other minor translation mistakes in not so common sentences. If you are interested you could also forward these to the product team.
The following sentence contains variables (&1, &2, &3, &4). Most of the time the <mstrans> tag works to keep the variable, but in the following case it just made a mistake with the last variable. &4! shouldn't change, but as example in DE to ES (Spanish) it is translated to >
DE
Bitte SAP-Beleg löschen vor Änderung Budat <mstrans:dictionary translation=&1>&1</mstrans:dictionary> => <mstrans:dictionary translation=&2>&2</mstrans:dictionary> wegen GJW <mstrans:dictionary translation=&3>&3</mstrans:dictionary> => <mstrans:dictionary translation=&4>&4</mstrans:dictionary>!
ES:
Por favor, elimine el documento de SAP antes de cambiar Budat &1 > &2 debido a GJW &3 > >
And some additional Problems occured with Symbols like "=" or "@" where the just dissappear or in some cases change "=" changes to "-"
