Hi everybody,

Further to some installing problems with Paint Shop Pro Ultimate, I discovered it's impossible for me to install any .NET framework.

I always receive the same message during installation : "Fatal error during installation".

I tried to use ".NET Framework Clean-up Tool" and now... I have no Framework installed anymore and all software requiring to use them is impossible to work any more...

My system is Windows 7 Sp1, with also all the last updates (after Sp1) installed.

Thank you in advance for any advice to avoid complete Windows re-instalation.

    Dear TianyuSun,

Thank you for your advice and support.
I tried to use "Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool” and I was first recommanded to 'Reregister Windows Installer Service" and to "Restart Windows Installer service" . The application make that itselfs and then recommanded me to try to reinstall .NET frameworks.

Afterwards, I did try to install .NET framework 4.0 and 4.5 with no success (same fatal error during installation)

The Repair Tool remained opened recommanded then to me to install .NET Framework 4.8 and it launched this installation itself. No success again. The Repair Tool told me that following log files were collected and send to Microsoft. I don't know if these files were really sent as the Repair Tool task was terminated with an error....

    Hello @Nicolas LATOUCHE ,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

When did you meet this error: “Fatal error during installation”? Before or after using “.NET Framework Clean-up Tool”?

Please try to use “Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool” to repair any possible issues for the setup of .NET Framework, and then try to download and install the .NET Framework again, as some shared files or registry keys may have been deleted during the cleanup of .NET Framework.

    Best Regards,
    Tianyu
