How can I actually use the apps during my free trial?

Hi, I signed up for a free trial for the Microsoft 365 Business option, on February 1st. I haven't been able to actually use the apps to see how they work and if I like them (ie, Bookings). I am showed how it works, however, I cannot figure out or find instructions on how to actually use it while under the free trial.
Also, I understand I can use the Microsoft Office Suite online during my free trial, however, do I not receive a license to be able to use the apps we have on this laptop? What exactly is the point of a free trial if I can't test what all you have to offer for myself before the organization I work with commits for a full year?
