Win10 rel 2004

First of all I wanted to report my disappointment regarding current Microsoft policies. Two days ago without my explicit request, totally without my knowledge, my PC installed the Win 10 2004 version by itself. My previous version was
Win 10 1909. The update was successful and there and then everything seemed fine. Yesterday morning I started using my usual applications, and the problems started. First of all the sound card stopped working. Motu UltraLite mk3, is a high-end card that until today has always excelled. I tried everything it is impossible to show it to Win 10, disappeared from the system. Also, the Steinberg Cubase 6.5 program started giving me an error, related to an insufficient privileges to run the eLicenser (license verification) program. But in general the system became slower to respond to commands, a general sense of heaviness. Lucky Microsoft has provided the feature to revert to the previous version! I did and within minutes my PC was as fast as before and everything worked as before perfectly! I would therefore like to alert all Microsoft users with an older PC like mine (mine is based on I5 2500K, 16GB RAM, SSD HDD, Gigabyte Z68 series motherboard), which in my opinion, unless Microsoft seriously provides check the functioning of all the hardware in circulation today before producing an update (which unfortunately I guess impossible), to stay away from updates after version 1909, stable and efficient for me. I would also like to urge Microsoft to make users decide if and when to make a major operating system update (like this one to 2004, where I suppose the code has been heavily modified, to create all these problems!), And absolutely avoid automatic updates. Thank you.

Download and install the audio driver from the support site of the manufacturer.

You may also try Audio troubleshooter

    See:

By the way there is option to defer updates. You can use this feature in future:

    Open the Settings app.
Go to Update & security -> Windows Update.
On the right, click Advanced options.
Now, select for how long to defer feature updates. This option can be set to 0 - 365 days. Feature updates will install you a new build of Windows 10

Thank You for your reply. Yes I know and tried all your raccomandations. This Audio Card I know is really old (bought in 2012), and the driver for Win 10 is the last available (no newer update since 2015). So no help by the manufacturer. But this is just the tip of the iceberg, I suppose other minor issues. I just said about Cubase hardware key no more working and so on. Not tried all the external hardware I own.
So I really do not want to install newer build update, because if so I'm sure I have to buy new hardware. Probably by the time support for build 1909 will end, I should buy a new PC and new hardware related, and by that date I hope a more stable build of Win 10 will be available. By the time I will install only really security related update selected by me, just to keep my build (1909) updated until will be possible.
However I do not think it is correct that a user who has an old hardware, but perfectly working, should throw his PC in the garbage, because he is forced to install a new operating system, which has not been designed correctly.
