Assuming that this question is related to body tracking. Below is the Microsoft product Team's response which may help with your query to understand the capabilities.
1) The camera can see beyond the specified ranges just that it cannot see anything with an IR reflectivity in the 850nm ranges less than 15%. In other words anything with say a reflectivity of 95% is likely to be seen at 10m.
2) Body tracking is impacted by the number of pixels across body parts e.g. arms and legs. That is why hands become unreliable at >2m. It is unlikely that it will detect a person at 10m.
