Azure DevOps: MS-hosted pipeline stuck in Pending

I have a pipeline that has been previously running fine. Last successful execution was on Friday. But now seems to be stuck in Pending - unable to connect to the MS-hosted agent.

Another pipeline with identical XML still seems to be running ok.

Have tried several attempts to cancel and retry (manual and by trigger) with the same result - the job sits as Pending.
